Thanks Karen. I don';t know enough about human intelligence except to be certain it is not a single dimension. Much easier to write about human folly. :-). But I will try

Thank you for this. Growing up we lived in the country surrounded by many animals and always had dogs and cats. I think as an adolescent I realised I did not have the patience for dogs. But I always respected the independence of cats. I am not sure what this means. The part about squirrels reminded me of this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hFZFjoX2cGg&list=PLgeXOVaJo_gl1ZIpbYyPRXzQner7-5j5k&index=1 - You are not alone in the squirrel appreciation.

Thank you Eoin. I will watch the video. I have stopped thinking of my relationship with animals as a category of species. Instead now I see each relationship between a human and an animal as unique. I would love to make friends with a squirrel. No success so far, but it is great fun trying.

It is fascinating to sit in awe and wonder noticing the interconnectedness of beings, witnessing the divine is each phenomenon and being part of this divine play unraveling herself.

Absolutely correct. I will soon be submitting a blog on the concept of Leela, divine play. Please keep sending feedback

Swaran you’re such a versatile writer!

I can completely resonate with your thoughts on animals….Socks ,Highway,Yellow Butterflies and the numerous others with whom you have been associated.

Giving is truely the greatest feeling that i have experienced. It always gives me a sense of fulfillment and joy.Socks is showing his gratitude by bringing gifts for you all, which is the most wonderful gesture anyone can ever show.Blessed be!

Would love to meet Emilia someday!

Thank you Swaran. A relatable piece and important reminder of our interconnection with the natural world. We have a rescue dog and she has taught me so much. Not least, the vast intelligence of dogs and how much can be communicated without words. I hoped you might say more about types of intelligence, an interest of mine. A future piece perhaps? A not so subtle hint:)
