Thank you Prerna. Individual effort provide some confort against the overwhelming scale of the problem. We need wise and thoughtful leadership, seemingly in short supply right now. But one lives in hope.

Swaran you have powerfully brought out the grim reality of the dwindling Kabani river and the plastic pollution endangering marine life, animals and birds. Your sensitive capture of the diverse species makes the loss feel real and urgent besides adding colour to the piece. It is painful how poverty and at times obsequious inaction allow such degradation to continue unchecked.Yet through your lens and words you awaken awareness and responsibility-much needed call before this beauty is lost forever.

Radhica, the most painful moment was as pulled ashore, other fishermen were bringing heaps of net for the next evening’s fishing. They now catch juvenile fish and small prawns, a dwindling catch requiring ever more netting and hence greater pollution. I am sure there is more net than river life under the water surface. Very painful to watch.

Bless you Swaran for this lovely piece. I believe if each one truly lives with a conscious and aware mindset, we can achieve much more than what we are currently. Each one is the culprit and it takes rigor to coach oneself with objectivity, detachment and discipline.

Swaran, this is a really thought‑provoking piece. The way you showed Ajaya’s reality on the Kabini alongside protests in London highlights how climate action has to support people’s survival, not just our sense of righteousness.

Thank you Bharat. Absolute moral certainties rarely survive collision with the reality of messy complexity. I am not trying to be cynical; just a request to think harder about the need to think harder about the problems we currently face and aim for incremental improvements rather than sudden radical change that may hurt as much as it helps.
